We are always looking for more musicians to join our wonderful team of players and singers who lead the congregation in worship. We are blessed with a fantastic mix of people taking in professional musicians, music students and many other talented performers, but every year life inevitably moves on and we lose a few as they seek out new employment/study/housing/ministry opportunities. Some of them stay at Platt but no longer have the time to commit, and others leave altogether, so it is never a bad time to get involved if you’re new.

Most of our musicians play or sing about once every two weeks, although it is not an exact science. It is however, important to have some availability for both morning and evening services.

There are no limits on age, music style or instrument, as long as you can work smoothly as part of a band. If you’re wondering what musical standard you need to be, the songs for each service are usually published by the Monday or Tuesday beforehand, so if you are able to get them fluent so that the congregation can follow you by Sunday then we’ll work together fantastically. Because we rehearse immediately before each service, even if you can sight read perfectly it’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with anything you don’t know before the group gets together.

I hope you are keen to begin serving on our team – please get in touch with this form. If you’re not sure, fill it in anyway and we can figure out together what to do next.
